Doesn't anything over 100mph in Scotland become a charge of dangerous driving?

Context. Given the layout of the A96 where I presume these two were nabbed, and factor in the weather and traffic, 100mph+ is not too far off horrendous. We're not talking the M74 on a quiet summers eve.

Regardless, given how frequently that stretch is patrolled, they deserve punishment for sheer stupidity.

It's a long road and yet you 'presume' to know where they were nabbed.

Are you some kind of soothsayer? you also seem to 'presume' the weather and traffic.

We've got a regular Nostradamus here.

Locals roads policing officers and others from the trunk road patrol group have been maintaining a high visibility presence on the roads, whilst carrying out routine checks on vehicles.
Obviously not high visibility enough!

There is a throwaway line in that report, that should be the headline and story.

"one of the men was more than five times the legal limit"

I know it might be the Scottich limit and it probably relates to someone other than the drivers clocked at 100+, but regardless of that, this should be the story.

What about this cretin then, 90+ MPH in a 30 MPH road.

With a disastrous result.

Should it really be a 30 if you can manage to do 90?

I would agree, there are plenty of roads that are a 30 limit and doing 90 would be more than possible, even outside a school!

Care to explain what you mean DS197?

I have driven at horrendous speeds many times along the A303.....usually about 3mph past Stonehenge, seen plenty of accidents along that stretch as well with rubber neckers running into the back of each other.

Go take a look yourself, then imagine it's late at night, been raining & lots of side roads ?

Yes 30 MPH is plenty fast enough.

Quote from the article by the fuzzy wuzzies

"The majority of collisions inappropriate speeds is one of the main causes of road traffic collisions."

They don't give up easily, do they ?
