Hi all

Could do with some help so the Griff is currently going through a full rebuild, started out with one rusty chassis tube by the engine, not the outriggers……. And became a complete strip down to chassis shot blast etc. but guess what the outriggers were replaced as well!

Anyway, suggested that I check the clutch as the engine is sitting on the garage floor as the car has done 80k and I don’t think has had a new clutch ( felt fine last time I drove it) but it is an “easy” job when the engine is sitting on the floor BUT not in the car so makes sense to inspect and replace? Question is what thickness should the clutch be, found this for a land rover Disco V8 but not sure if this would change, it is a 1999 Griffith 500

Clutch plate thickness (clamped state)
New 8.4 – 8.9mm
Replace at 7.1mm

Rivet depth
New 1.73mm
Replace 0.25mm

Clutch plate run out
New 0.5mm
Replace 0.5mm

Info above from workshops http://workshop-manuals.com/landrover/discovery-ii...

Any help appreciated, will be looking to replace with AP / Borg Beck standard if needed

Last question as the car is in what feels like a million pieces anything else that I should consider looking at? I am not looking to upgrade just replace worn items ( though will fit new fuel and brake lines inc braided to the callipers)

Thanks in advance

Alex
