Merry Christmas Everyone!

For those not on the FB owner's page, the following is a post I made earlier today concerning my install of the rear clam:

I have had the factory pre-fit option done, so the rose joints and hinges have been factory installed (and I have not messed with them at all)... the problems I am facing now are:
1) The rear canopy will not close the last 6 inches because the gearbox support and gearbox itself are touching the GRP 'slant' boxed section...
2) The canopy 'appears' to be too left off center - the right side hinge is directly below the canopy hinge-thingy, but the left side hinge is inwards than the canopy hinge-thingy...
4) The left tire clears the rear edge of the canopy, but the right tire is catching on the canopy and will not let it open completely...

Has anyone had this issue? What do I need to look at? I am not sure if I need to adjust the rose joints up/down, or forward/backwards... and why would I need to do that given that the factory did a pre-fit???

I understand from my FB post that #1 is rectified by opening up the inner GRP box section to allow the gearbox support and gearbox to clear...

However, the lateral movement of the clam has me concerned: there were no washers used in the pre-fit service (it also says a '0' by both rose joints in blue ink from the pre-fit service)... There is also no space between the rose joint and the GRP to allow a washer to fit - it already a VERY tight fit that is chipping the GRP away, so I don't know how to get the clam to shift to the right (and also backward on the right end so that it clears the tire)...

Any help is appreciated... thanks!

WHEN CLOSED WHAT DO THE SHUT LINES LOOK LIKE EACH SIDE WHERE THEY MEED THE BODY work by filler cabs?

if equal and nide then the rose joints dont need moving forward or back on the threds

the movement of clam left to right on mine is with washers

up and down is more height.

who fitted the mid section the factory, or did they pre drill and you fitted? and who fitted the rear rams... the rams fitted in the wrong position causing the clam to open too much willl cause the body to fowl

when clam when open touches the tyres both sides... so if you have loads of cleanance one side is suspension arms properly adjusted?

what gearbox have you got?

It looks like you don't have the Rams on and the clam is at 90 degrees? Does it touch when the Rams are on?

In my experience, the rams also change the shut lines when fitted.

Thanks for the reply guys... some answers below

The box is a 997.. since the support is preventing the clam from completely shutting down, I cannot say for sure right now how the shut lines are...

I have not yet fit the rams - I did not think they would change the shut line... regarding the rams - do they fit on the inner (engine side) or the outer side (tire side) on the rear canopy?

Hi

Have you done your geo set up for wheel alignment? It could be the rear wheel on this side is out and not parallel as yet?

Have you got a picture of the gearbox support. It may be you have configured it incorrectly.
