I've seen it mentioned that an uprated oil pressure relief valve(??) from memory can improve the pressure on the Rover V8.

As this part is cheap (about £3) I was wondering :

How much labour is involved in fitting?
Does it work with the TVR Power 5l unit or have TVR already had a play with this?
Is there any negative side or is it just all additional piece of mind?

Cars already on route for the tractor noises from the exhaust manifold gaskets to be investigated so was thinking as it there I investigate getting this done too and the exhasut silencing removed

For reference oil pressure is bang on the 25psi line or just below at idle when warm and goes up to nearly 50psi under load for a good acceleration run. Not sure how accurate the guage is as the sender stopped working for a few days then "fixed" itself.

my griff 500 has had all the above done.
exhaust is well worth doing, but you will need track silencers inserts for track and field! (£80-00ish penninsula)
oil presure on mine is the same as yours.
i have had the variable relief valve fitted to mine with 15/50 mobil 1. 0/40 is like water and so when you put the car away hot, the watery oil runs of the top end and straight down to the sump. not helpfull for engine wear (IMHO)
also i was having trouble with the follwers on 0/40.
have it done if its in anyway
also have had manifold gaskets done too - we all do eventually!

as for the guage, there is only on wire with a standard lucar connector which is just inside the front off side wheel arch, so is often iffy.

but be carefull that this is all it is !
driving with no oil pressure is TERMINAL, even over a short distance!

My Griff 500 used to show a minus reading before start up so it meant when started it was down on actual. I know its not an oil pressure mod but just makes the guage that much nicer to look at! A simple resitor across the sender to calibrate.

Go for the adjustable version, it's only a few quid more.

Takes less than 1/2 to fir to my wedge.
