Great Commuter
Discussion
Started using my new liz for the daily commute to work - 15 mixed miles each way.
Loving it!!!!!!!! Nimble around town, quick, light, and great fun.
I though it may be tiring, specially with the sports exhaust, but no.
Only thing I don't like is the front-end lightness over 70'ish, but my impending change to an R should sort that.

you're more man than I am if you are commuting with the rag off in this weather, respect.
I did however get caught out a couple of weeks ago when the heavens opened. Amaizing how you are completly unaffected by torrents of water if you stay above 45mph. One does get the odd look from other road users but I just pretend that I am an eccentric enthusiast filming a feature on the everyday practicality of the Elise.

did 60K miles in 2.5yrs in mine - all weathers, all roads...great fun in the summer...not so hot in the winter (literally!) Ive now got a job which requires more euro travel, and have an 'airport' car...but nothing wrong with an Elise every day...much fun on a dry day taking the long route home

Hi X-box,
Just to touch on this comment, I used to own a standard S1 before my 111R and it seemed a lot more stable at the front end when pushed to the limit. The 111R and I believe the 111S aren't quite as good at the limit I think they both let go slightly earlier at very high speed going into corner's.
my brother is a very accomplished driver and he was some what surprised by the new set up of the S2 he felt exactly the same as me, that said I'm sure there's a reason for this slight adjustment and the whole package feel's a lot more responsive and quicker
Boggy
I'm surprised at that, I really am.
The S1 nails the front, it's the back that tends to step out of line.
The standard S2 was supposed to be more balanced, but in reality it was less sure of itself at the front.
Now the 111R/111S is even worse you say? What's changed? They have the same tyres etc. don't they?
Tim.
P.S. Boggy, where are you from in Kent? I'm in T.Wells.

Hi Tim,
I'm sure the front tyre's are slightly different and may be the Set -up ? it's not noticeable until it's really pushed hard and on the limit and the front end does give way I've mostly noticed it on roundabout's turning both left and right just have to ease off a little otherwise the front end will give way.
I'm from Wilmington just outside Dartford, brought an Audi TT from T well's about 14 month's ago are there any meet's in the Kent area soon ?
P.s love your car, Exige in Ardent Red
Boggy

All S2's have smaller front wheels than the S1. I think they used that to effectively tame the rear end somewhat by making the front a little looser. Err'ing towards safety, probably. Nothing stopping you changing back...
What putting the 225's on the front and the 175's on the front?!
could be a little tail happy!
