bought it so cheap I'll never loose money on it when selling
(will add pics later as my phone is broke
some of my mates cars at a car show we attended last year, lotta bhp in this pic, 700 bhp evo 8 and a 420-450 bhp dc5

thanks, I have much nicer pics on my phone but I'll have to wait till friday to pick up a new screen for it.
I should do an Idiviual thread for each car as I like to buy cars that need TLC and bring them up to my standard. costs a fortune but to date I've never lost money on a car yet.
The navara on the other hand is a constant money pit, havn't got the finance's to upgrade it yet so I'll just have to keep fixing as it breaks,( monthly)

Wow, I thought navara's were bulletproof I should do an Idiviual thread for each car as I like to buy cars that need TLC and bring them up to my standard. costs a fortune but to date I've never lost money on a car yet.

it's been the most unrelaible piece of crap i've ever seen
Monthly borkage?! Jesus!
and this one has had an easy life,
transfer box bearing failure/stretched chain, nacker'd sensors, all seals gone, total cost 1k
timing chain stretched, replaced with after market kit, lasted 10k miles, replaced with genuine parts, total cost was 3k
4 front wheel bearing/hubs in the past 40k k miles, 130 quid each
rear axle seals went, contaminated the rear brake shoes, all rebuilt, total cost 800
uj's replaced front and rear,
all 4 shocks busted at 140k miles
just order'd the third suction control valve for the diesel pump, they seem to last 3 years tops
EGR valve has failed, blanked off but it throws the engine management light
Turbo overboosts when cold so it will pop soon enough I'm just waiting on the bang
Door lock actuator faulty,
rear window stopped working (probably used 10 times in its life)
and last but not least I have just discover'd that the chassis at the year has rotted through on the inside and is flexing, which will need a major repair (common problem appearing on navaras)
That's all I can think of this past 3 years, I got the truck from a company first owner with 122k and a full service history, I've changed the oil every 5-8k miles with quality synthetics, this truck is not a working truck, it's never been on a farm, it's used as a car/leisure vehicle, yet it has given so much trouble. i bought it cheap for 5.5k euro in 2012, but since have spent 5k fixing it, so it's ended up costing the same as any other navara I suppose,
because i've spent so much money rebuilding it I'm trying to take some value out of my hard work I would say, I mean there's no point spending 3k on a timing chain rebuild just to sell it for the same price as a Navara with the original chain, it's not like the rebuilt parts would add any value, I'm planning to sort it out over the coming month and drive it 1 more year then sell it, hopefully will be going for a 2013 ford Ranger 3.2 wildtrack or a 2011 Toyota Hilux as a replacement.
I do love the size and looks of the Ranger, along with a 5 cylinder engine which would sound great with an exhaust mod, the ranger also has a 6 speed box and is way better equipped than a hilux,
but after having such a hard time with this Navara, it's hard to look away from a hilux and their renowned reliability

Nice line up, love the M3. Shame the Navara has given you such a hard time. Just out of curiosity, do you have to get the cars with the UK plates re registered in ROI or can you just use them as they are?
They are supposed to pay a Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) on import which is usually quite eye watering, although I'm lead to believe not as bad on 2010- lower emissions vehicles. But it's generally based on a percentage of what they value the car at.As well as this car tax in the south is serious money. iirc it would be €1200 for the M3 for 12 months.
Wow ok thanks, that's nearly £900 give or take, and I thought motoring was expensive here! So once this VRT is paid they can drive on the UK plates?

It's a lot more than that now, over €1800 for 12 months on an E46 M3As well as this car tax in the south is serious money. iirc it would be €1200 for the M3 for 12 months.
