You may remember I picked up this old girl for £500 needing a new light and a few other relatively simple jobs doing...

...and I pretty much fell in love with it. It had a short MOT but passed with two advisories - nice!

Well, I made the mistake of seeing if there were any other cheap Jags knocking around just before Christmas and had a wee bid on one. Prices seem to range from £500 to £3k with most leaning towards the better side of 1K if decent, so I wasn't expecting to win one with a stack of history, a non-sagging headlining and have it be in a pretty presentable all round condition for £600.....but I did biggrin

And here she is. Jaguar number two! (have now been labeled John Prescott) It's pretty much the same spec with the same engine as the blue Jag and apart from a few niggles to sort, it made the 2 hour journey home with no drama at all.

It's sat at around 133k, but the paperwork is extensive (the blue one had none but had obviously been looked after) so I am hoping it lasts a while yet. It possibly needs a new back box one side, but they are not too expensive and I will fit that myself; but other than a well-known Jaguar issue where you have to sometimes wobble the gear stick to start the old girl due to a possible inhibitor switch issue, it seems spot on.

It even has the original bill of sale which shows something like 36k - amazing what a few years and petrol prices will do to the price of a car! She does have a few more touched up rust spots than the blue one, so we will see how she gets on in 3 months time when the MOT is due but pass or fail, It sill amazes me how cheap some of these cars have become.

I now will not rest until I have sampled a supercharged one...

Lovely, same model and colour as mine. I don't suppose you fancy swapping my chrome mirror caps for your carnival ones do you?

Go onnnnnn.

Lovely! Such a lot of waftastic car for so little money. Sometimes I wish I'd have bought a more sensible one as opposed to a supercharged biggrin
