Hi guys,

I've just come back to my 997 (year 2006) after 3 weeks of non-use and it is parked on-street

I opened the car, and tried to turn car on...no sign of life, and getting error messages like "system failure", another about my spoiler, another about brake pads, etc

And more worryingly, the car then will not lock when I try to lock it

Any suggestions pls?? Tks

You may find some of the warnings persist until you've driven a short way, don't panic.

Make sure you can access the front boot to access the battery when they appear.

Is there a way of opening the boot if the fob doesn't work?

There is a fuse panel by your feet. Pop the lid and apply power to the special post. Clip remaining jump lead to earth.

Only other way is via the cigarette lighter, which you can do with some battery chargers.
