964 (Turbo Body Cab) Tiptronic to Manual Conversion.

Hi

My best buddy who currently lives in Hong Kong has a lovely 964 wide turbo body cab with a Tiptronic gearbox. He plans to bring the car to the UK and is considering a manual gearbox conversation. I have volunteered to assist with this and wonder who to talk to,assuming it can be done. I live in Sussex / Surrey so an independent in this area would be good but essential. It's been over 10 years since I owned a 911 and I used to use Parr for some work then so they would be a starting point but I suspect they will be quite expensive.

Any experience / advice much appreciated. Thanks.

Steve at Jazz Porsche has done one conversion on a 964 in the dim and distant past i.e. circa 8 years ago. Wasn't cheap then circa £6k. I suspect it would cost more now. Do let us know what you're quoted as there are lots of reasonable priced tips around.

Looked into this a few years ago - there was a document floating on the web that listed all the parts needed, it was a pretty long list and so it could get pretty expensive on parts alone if you can't source the bulk of them used. It didn't seem economical to do at the time and so I never pursued it but may be a viable option now if you can get the parts for reasonable money.
