Mark Webber on the GT4

Guess this is what happens if you own a GT3RS 4.0, a 918 and formally a GT2RS - as well as having driven in F1...

On the GT4;

“It’s a bit gutless. The steering’s mega and I think it’s another winner, but I’d like more power. I don’t like what I’m hearing about them changing hands for ridiculous sums, though.”

The Top Gear journo, however, says at the end of the article that Webber is wrong about the GT4 - at least that's how I read it. Seems like a very nice guy though despite all the smoke that's been blown up his arse for many years.

Webber never really had the ability in F1. Guess that's why he needs more power!!

a) they have more skill, but less powerful cars
b) the fastest cars

Well in F1 you firstly have to out qualify and beat your team mate, Webber didn't do that very often

But if anybody could, I would hazard a guess that Webber could make use of more power !

Thinking about it, 450 bhp would be nice ... but far too competitive against the GT3 !!

There is no point in his arguing against Porsche ...

Odd thing to say! I bet he has more 'ability' than you or any of the GT4 owners on PH so his opinion is quite valid when discussing one of the hottest sports cars currently on the market.

More of an aside than a review.

Dario Francitti also criticises the one piece buckets in the Lambo SV (fair enough) and the 675LT (everyone else - including me - loves them). So who is right? No one - you need to make up your own mind. But of course if Webber was saying good things about the GT4, we'd all be nodding furiously....

'Talent' or 'Money' gets you into F1. IMO MW was there on talent.

He is also 2015 World Endurance Champion - and, as a pretty straight talker, his views are normally very credible. Although, he's clearly touched a nerve with some sensitive GT4 owners by daring to criticise their new toys

I think if I'd have been driving the cars he has as standard, 385bhp would feel a bit gutless to me too.

He had a GT3 RS 4.0 and believe he has a 4.0. Nice for him to be honest, given he is Porsche's property these days. A proper Aussie!
