Pruning.

Can any of you guys n girls tell me if this is the right time to prune and how to go about it,ime afraid if ime left to my own devices i will be left with a garden full of stumps come summer time.

On a serious note. I would be tempted to leave it at the moment until the weather warms and the chance of frost reduced.

Pruning will encourage new shoots which a quick burst of frost will kill.

2nd weekend in March is the date when you can start pruning vigorously

I can highly recomend either a Mountfield M5 or a Hayter Harrier rotary lawn mower, these superb machines will prune all plantsup to 3/4" thick to within 1/2" of the ground, thus keeping your garden imaculately tidy, without those uncoordinated splashes of colour dotted here and there. This is how gardening is done ST style
