It's just too easy, therefore I shall refrain.

Is it a more rewarding, confidence inspiring car than an 8P RS3? Probably. As fast? Probably not.

Apart from the OP have any of you guys driven these cars back to back?

OP, I Haven't driven the 8P RS3 (if that's what you have), however, I recently drove the 8V RS3 and Golf R back to back along the same roads on a 45 minute test drive of each car and I thought the Golf R was the easier car to drive quickly in both cars' respective sport modes over the not so good country roads of Cambridgeshire. The 8V RS3 is fantastic and even though the Golf R is a bit soulless it is an incredible car. The only reason I don't have a Golf R is that the wife has a 8V S3 and I have a played with MK6 golf GTi.

If you have the 8P RS3 it may be a good choice moving to a Golf R.

It's the rs3 8v I've got just now. Don't know if it's realistically possible to change out of it this year So I'll need to speak to the finance but really considering it

It all depends on what term your PCP was for and how long you've been in it. If you've only been in it for a short while you're going to be stung quite hard to get out of it. Good luck and it would be interesting to see what the finance company has to say.

Unless you're doing it as you are struggling with the monthlies on the RS3 I don't really see the point. At any road speed, (having spent a decent amount of time in both) they are both pretty great cars and there is no vast difference bar the noise/looks of the audi.

However, don't always believe the hype on getting 'stung' on PCP deals. Well worth checking. I chopped in an A6 that was 18 months into a 48 month deal in Sep last year and pulled out £4500 equity against a new S4. I put down £6k on the a6.

I agree the two cars are very good and if I'm honest the RS3 is serious contender for the next car.

The OP will probably only be around 6-9 months into a PCP as the 8V RS3 was only available around early summer 2015 so it will probably cost to get out now. 18 months or so into a deal is a little different, but the OP can only ask.

£1500 + 18 months of finance at, argument sake, £250.

So a total of £6000 for 18 months motoring.

I'd stick with the RS3; I can't see how in road driving there would be any discernible difference. Plus the noise of the 5-pot has got to be worth the extra!
