ANA to order 3 A380's?

If the rumour turns out to be true, will be a good start for Airbus, they didn't sell a single A380 this year afaik

some of the densest air routes in the world are Japanese domestics, would they use them on these or are they not ideal for short haul stuff like this?

I understand they were keen to use A380s for the domestic routes a few years ago, but were persuaded to use Boeing 787s instead. I'm not sure why they changed their mind...presumably the 787 is more efficient than the A380, but perhaps now they're convinced they could fill an A380 (you can squeeze 800+ seats on one if you go in a high density all-economy configuration).

Facebook is now saying that Air Hong Kong are also to order 10, but if this does happen, it will just be a re-in-statement of the previously cancelled order.

Iran Air now saying they want 8 too.
That's 13 ordered in a month.
Funny how things work out, nothing last year, and then this.

Japan really does belong to the US for aircraft procurement though if AB get in there it will be a significant achievement.
