Hi. I'm looking at a 993 this coming Sunday that doesn't have the factory sticker on the drivers side b-post but does have all the others, i.e. under the bonnet, in the service book etc. Obviously my major concern would be if the entire wing that side was replaced due to accident damage. However, does anyone have any personal experience and know of genuine reasons for it being AWOL? smile

Thanks.

Early car? If so they didn't have one. Not sure when it came into being though. Best place to ask is under the 993 section on 911uk.

A previous owner might simply have cleaned it off.

Shirley a simple inspection would be the best way to confirm (or not) any accident damage?

This sticker is a barcode strip and can go mouldy/ get worn/ scraped off easily.
Look for a nice clean join between the rear wing overlap onto the B pillar, compare both sides.

TBH I've seen better accident repaired cars than straight originals, I would focus more on what the car is actually like in terms of history, spec, looks and general condition, of course back it off with a independent inspection to confirm its status but a missing sticker is focusing you on the wrong things.

I bought my 993 as a cat d and I would put it up against anyone's for general condition and history file and I paid half the price of its showroom sister, of course I won't get top dollar when I sell it but I haven't bought it for investment, I've bought it to drive it and that is where it's in a league of its own. It does have issues from time to time but only the same as any other 993.

Some of the most valuable and desirable cars are damage repaired, restored or modified, I.e singers or Urban Outlaws, these will not have original stickers but I bet you'd love one in your garage.

Good luck with your purchase you won't regret it.
