W163 central locking

I've just picked up a 2001 ML270. It has an issue with the central locking on the driver's front door, whereby you have to lock and unlock that door using the key in the lock.
All the other doors work fine from the remote. Would I be right in thinking that this would suggest that the central locking actuator in that door is dead, and needs replacing? Anything else worth checking before I look for a replacement part?
