Hello

Happy New Year.

Hope you all had a good time and that your New Year resolutions are all going to plan!

During the festive period I came across what I think is a barnfind in the watch world!

I had the chance to meet a vintage collector who had owned this beautiful timepiece for many years and I am pleased I was able to persuade him to part with it.

It is a Tiffany & Co 18ct rose gold wrist watch made by Tiffany themselves around 1920. As you can see from the picture it is a very elegant watch that would have originally been worn probably by a wealthy gentleman for special occasions.

Today while the strap would fit a gent it is most likely to grace the wrist of a lady.

The movement is manually wound and it bears the same serial number on the movement, inner and outer cases.

I love the over sized winding crown which makes winding it rather special.

It also came with a Tiffany & Co box and was services around 18 months ago.

So although beautiful timepieces are now my business this just one of those special timepieces that demonstrate to me how watches are so much more than something to just tell the time.
