Does anyone have expirence of using a solar charger , just to keep a battery topped up in my car.

The reason I ask is the following , I hardly use my car, it's parked in the street , I have no off-road parking.

Thanks

Not of the chargers but why not one of these : http://www.electricalcarservices.com/Battery-Isola...

Loads cheaper and a bit safer.

yeah ive used one about the size of a magazine on the dash , seems to keep it topped up on a normal working car , it wont provide enough to top up a battery if its going flat becuase of elec issues/problems

be mindfull that some scrote doesnt break in thinking its a ipad lol

Thanks guys

Disconnecting the battery won't work as the car has keyless entry , hence why I'm thinking on the solar chargers

Car has a sunroof so I guess I could get it held up nicely out of sight

Thanks

I use two of these

to keep the boat batteries alive over winter.

They do that job just fine, but die after a few years due to being out in the weather.

I used to use one on the spare car, just sat on the dashboard. Car always started after 3-6 months idle.

They cost me about $30 AU each (I bought 5 and shared with a mate)
