Ridley Noah

I have been offered a Ridley Noah SL 40 at a very good price.



Anyone any experience of Ridley bikes? I'd obviously need deeper section wheels on it

I am also considering a Cervelo S2 or a Plant X EC-130-E.

I'm going to try and get a few test rides in in the next couple of months.

Have had a Noah fast for 18 months, no issues with it apart from the integrated brakes being a pain. Love riding it and I think it looks great.
Friend has had a Noah RS for about two years, again no issues and he does a lot more mileage than me.

PX put decent bits on a relatively cheap frame which gives the appearance of good VFM, whereas Cervelo especially put the money in the frame rather than trying to hit a spec vs price target.

Ridley bikes are good, I believe they have a hand in some of the other UK branded stuff too - Genesis Zero and some of the stuff Wiggle sell as 'Verenti' I'm told.

4600kms in 6mths on my Fenix and its awesome.... They are stiff, well put together and well regarded generally I think. Lotto Soudal race them, Adam Hansen has done his 12 or 13 consecutive GT's on them .... Not sure of the relevance, but they're a pro bike and my experience with service, dealer (in NL) is outstanding.

Fair to say I'm a fan. I preferred the look of the Fast but the brakes were frustrating to adjust. The SL doesn't seem any slower and helps me live out my Greipel fantasies.

Be careful if you like bigger volume tyres. It'll only take certain brands in 25mm and if you pick up a stone it'll click the frame.

Thanks. I'd be sticking with either 23 or 25 mm tyres so no issues there.

Might have to look into a test ride

The slope is indeed slippery from that point.

A few year ago, I used to have a Planet X "superlight" (aka Plasticine X), but having figured out Morph had more rigidity in him, moved to a Cervelo Soloist.
