If I purchased a grandstand ticket, would this get me into any of the grandstands throughout the race?

I understand that I'm allocated a seat when I purchase a grandtsand ticket and at race start/finish time all grandstands would be packed, but I seem to remember last time I went (2006!!) that I could sit in any grandstand seat that was free especially through the night when most were empty.

If anyone could shed some light on this I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance.

No.

For the LM24 a grandstand seat gets you into that grandstand and your allocated seat.

For the LM Classic the ticket gets you into the grandstand and seats are no0t allocated so you can sit anywhere.

So make sure that you pick the right grandstand for you.

Your grandstand seat gets you sat-sun access and your allocated seat.

The stands do thin out after the start and are virtually empty during the night.

Outside the busy periods it is just a common sense approach if you want to sit elsewhere in your stand for a while to get a different view. Just have to expect to move on if the seat 'owners' come back.

Except last year. 3am Sunday morning the stands and public area opposite the pits were still full. I was very surprised.

During practice and qualifying Grandstands are open to everyone.
