clicking no start doh

Happy new year guys, A hopefully simple question lol, when I try to start the car the starter just clicks, tried rocking the car back and fore any hints,,,

Mine does this with a flat(ish) battery.

It was the Starter Motor in my case

Check the leads for voltage drop.

Thanks guys thats all it was a low battery, which was strange as I had charged it about a week ago,,,

Batteries have about a 5 year life. When did you last change yours?

I guess about 3 years ago and the car isnt used that much when I dont use it the battery is disconnected so that may play upon its life span,,,

Less than 12 months if you keep running them flat seen it time and time again you have a constant drain on cars inc TVR's alarms/clocks etc, once stone flat they seldom fully recover even with these deep discharge chargers/minders, people can be very blasé with battery maintenance IMO but then I have seen frequently used Jap cars do 10 years + on a genuine battery Panasonic etc my latest was a 2000 year Yaris 14 years I changed about 12 months ago but thats exceptional though
