Hi All,

My S3 still has the original clutch master cylinder. Everything is working fine but the metal cap is starting to fall apart. Any idea what car the original master cylinder is from so that I can find a new (preferably plastic) lid. I've looked through the forums and there seem to be several replacement cylinder options that fit but I can't find a definitive answer to which car the original is from.

Thanks..Ralph

Girling master cylinder used by numerous manufacturers in its day, almost any Ford or BL car from the 70's - 80's.

This stands a good chance ...... clicky for cap

If the cylinder and cap are all original (and therefore ancient) might it be a good idea to replace both before you are.stranded with the clutch pedal on the floor?
From TVR Car Parts £66, so quite cheap.

Thanks all.

Morris Marina, cool..!! That is yet another donor vehicle I can add to the list.

I'll stick with the existing cylinder for now. If I start changing ancient items on my car that might leave me stranded I'll be very poor..!!!

If I was to admit that I once owned a Marina 1.8, would I have to go into the corner and wear a dunces cap?

I'd say if you went into a corner in a 1.8 marina you'd be lucky to come out the other side!laugh
