Hi, after a disaster with my Santa Cruz being nicked I'm after something half decent but for a far more restricted budget of £750.

A mate who knows his stuff has recommended a Canyon Grand Canyon 5.9 which looks great value:

https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/mtb/grand-canyon/2016...

Anyone got any other ideas? Only thing slightly putting me off is the fact that I have to order it from Germany so it's not easy like a local shop or Evans et al. No reason really I suppose! I only do local trails and places like Bedgebury but hopeful of Wales this year...

Spec wise I'm fairly flexible but a Hardtail 29er for a start... I am 5ft 10" and (ahem!) 100-ish KG fighting weight!

Thanks!

Edit: Just seen this but anyone got any other ideas?

I know you said hardtail but Halfords are clearing out their Boardman FS Team bike at £750 at the moment.
It was the best £1000 bike last year until the Calibre Bossnut took over this year.

My brother recently got a Radon bike from Bike-discount.de - good spec for the money, slightly better than the Canyon IIRC and quicker delivery - worth a look.

Can't see the FS one on website. The £749.99 is for a hardtail

before cube were selling on here I was going to buy from them and checked the reviews on the German sites as well, this was 5 years ago.

The thing is the game has moved on and you can get some good bikes in this country not from the distributers like chain reactions, decathlon etc.

I bought the Canyon £800 model 29er about 18 months ago.
Very happy.
Although, I don't know what bottom bracket it had but it didn't last a whole season of mud.
Oh and the tyres appeared to attracts sharp things to puncture them.
Once I fixed these two issues - love it!
