Hhhmmm. If they've sorted the problems that's great and I hope it's true.
But, covered or not, a broken car is a broken car. Knowing that I'm not paying for the car to be off the road for weeks at a time isn't much of a bonus for me.
I'll be watching the failure rates of the new cars with interest, but just giving me a warranty won't make me buy one.

Without wishing to do TVR down, I wish them all the best and am extremely encouraged by this annoucement, they have embarked on a testing program which compared to that the Duratec went through is somewhat limited. I still feel in the 'testing' stakes the Noble Duratec unit (even taking its pair of turbos and internal changes) into account comes out ahead, quite a way ahead!

Well I left TVR ownership after 3 failed attempts. 1 Cerb and 2 Tuscans. 1 nightmare v8 and 2 silly Speed Six's. I was terrified of the prospect of paying for an engine rebuild off my own back (upto £9000 has been quoted!).
I found an alternative in Noble and I continue to enjoy my ownership. The car is simply awesome. Everyday it just gets better. I'm looking forward to my first track day experience next month with the factory too.
What really gives you a good feeling about Noble is how quickly the likes of Simon responds to our needs even on this forum - never mind if we have to call the factory.
It's a shame our cars only have the 1 year warranty and I will certainly be considering an extended warranty later in the year.
Good on TVR to offer the 3 years though - it would appear that better times are ahead for them.

Fair enough, but they do pop it open and put lots of forged and lightened bits in for the m400. So I'd still put the MTBF higher than a Speed6, although it is possible that the Russian kid has got that sorted.
Not to mention that excluding the turbos a whole new engine is 5k USD+tax+shipping. Sure beats 9k GBP for them to put the old one back together with a speed 6.

Whilst the power output may appear to reduce the validity of the testing Ford performed its still applicable, physical strength is easy to engineer into an engine, the ability to effectively cool components and engineer sufficient oil supply and strength for those components normally taken for granted (lifters, cam bearings etc.) is something only an OEM can afford to trial, for proof just look at the issues the Speed 6 has had.

Going to make a big difference to pre and post march 2005 used values.
Which are you going to choose in 12moths time?, 14 months old and NO warranty or 12mths old and 2yrs MANUFACTURERS warranty remaining..... its a No brainer, expect to see values at least 3k cheaper IMHO for pre 03/05 cars

Would have to agree with that. Would not even have looked before due to the legendary unreliability.
What, and all of a sudden TVR's have become reliable - when did that happen then?!

...Lotus increased theres 2 years ago to 2yr/24K mile...some people were still out of warranty and suffering HGF after 13 months (like me) ..luckily they honoured it at the time.........
