Hi how effective is the flu jab this year.
I dont think mine is working that well this year. I'm on my second bout of mild flu this year. I know its not full blown flu just a cold with extras.
I've not changed my diet or anything but i have been lucky the last few years and not even had a good cold.
My other half has the hump as she has it now and i'm snoring like a good inn night times.

I had mine at the end of September, no sign of a cold or flu yet <touches wood>

OP, are you suffering from this thing that appears to be going around and seems to be impossible to shake off? Cold, which goes to sinusitis, blocked up ears, which goes to a severe cough, which as soon as you feel it's getting a bit better reverts to the cold, sinusitis, back to the cough, and then round you go again.

All three of us at home have had the flu jab and suffering from the above for weeks now, nearly two months in my case. Effing knackering, coughing disrupting sleeping. Yes have been to the doc, prescribed pholcodine, downed 4 bottles now.

Me and the wife have had this for around 2 weeks now, not had the blocked ears but have had a raging sore throat, sinusitis and cough.

Then to add to it, our 1 year old got tonsilitis Christmas Eve!

It's unlikely that you've had 2 bouts of "mild flu", more likely that you've had a cold, a bad cold, but still a cold. Different virus, different condition. The flu vaccine will not stop you having a cold, neither does it give you one. The flu vaccine is around 80% effective, and only protects against 5 Strains, whilst there are many more out there!

Hope you all get better soon!
