They don’t look troubled to me, they look like competent pilots dealing with crosswinds in the appropriate manner.
LBA is 20 minutes’ drive from where I live, therefore I’ve been in and out of there many times. I’ve had more than my fair share of views along the runway through the window shortly before touchdown

I actually find it quite entertaining! I fly FlyBe pretty regularly to the Isle of Man and I've had one "I can see all the way down the runway from row 22" moment and apart from the pilot making sure it was on the ground it wasn't that different to a normal landing.just watched this, i,m a nervous flyer, anyone on here experienced this kind of crosswind landing, how scary is it from the inside?
Smaller aircraft do get buffeted around and I have heard someone say he'll never fly on a Dash 8 again after a very normal flight!

What's it like?
Well, not as good as Alton Towers, but you're doomed anyway, so you're not missing anything.

Been in and out of LBA nearly 100 times - only had 1 very near miss and that was in a 152 when my mate got his PPL.
Have SEEN a few hairy landings there though, including the BA L-1011 that failed to stop at the end of the runway(due to touching down 50% of the way down the runway).

The French Concorde pilot summed it up nicely when he did what he described as a 'Normal Crosswind Landing' and shrugged.
There have been many "saves" at LBA - Closest I saw was a Spanish operated 737 which came out of low cloud after being talked down, at what looked like 90 degree wing down to the runway, he went around then came in on his second attempt.
LBA did/does suffer a lot from Wind and Low cloud but I remember once when they were the only Airport in Northern England not closed by Low Lying Freezing Fog - being the highest Airport in the country helped that day.

Think I have some old photos of the Avro Factory where they produced Lancasters somewhere - must dig them out.

in a X-wind, but it was good training. Fly bigger jets now & they're much easier but the same technique still applies.I've been in a few landings like that. I hate Dash 8's but flying out of Southampton means that what I usually travel on. It's even worse now that Flybe are downsizing their Embraer fleet in favour of more Dash 8's. The only time I can recall starting to feel queasy was on a Dash 8 on approach to Manchester. There was a guy a few rows behind me who was making good use of the sick bag.
I also get to fly in a King Air 200 from Farnborough to Walney Island (near Barrow in Furness, and reputedly the windiest place on the west coast). It's quite normal to come in sideways, get it somewhere over the runway and then execute a controlled crash. All good fun!
