EZY9095 circling Liverpool Airport

Not normally into this type of thing but noticed a jet circling above the office this morning a few times. It got my interest so had a look on flight radar and found out it is EZY9095 with a squawk code of "7010", looked like it just took off and circled a few times before landing.

Wondering what it was all about?

I'm going to go with pilot training. Somewhere in the depths of my memory I recall them using Liverpool for this in the past.

Circuits ; standard pilot training stuff, take offs landings etc. Probably a few new pilots finishing their Easyjet training before they are sent off to fly on actual passenger service.

Not much different to the folks training for pilot's licences in Cessnas, just faster (and more expensive!)

Circuit training. I think from what I remember when I looked at the BA FPP earlier in the year and then the blog I found it is the last step in the type conversion training once all the simulator based training is done, I imagine Easyjet will have a similar (if not the same) process to BA.

You do plenty of circuit bashing in PPL training, I had two circuits (intro) on the end of the last upper air work lesson before circuit training started and eight full sessions, soloed on the last circuit of the second full circuit lesson and then six circuit consolidation lessons after that.

Nit's base training. When you get a type rating on an aircraft before you are able to have your licence endorsed with the rating, then you must complete a minimum of 6 take off and landings. That's what this will be.

Also - easyjet flights with code 9xxx are non scheduled flights. Mostly pilot training, or used when a flight is delayed overnight and re-flies the following day
