Hmm! Somebody said that owning a 928 is like smoking - you can never give up.

True to my word I have just bought a second one - it's a beauty!

A LHD 1990 Gunmetal Gray GT with Cream Interior

The engine has been rebuilt with new piston rings, new main bearings, new valve guides, new gaskets, new oil seals, new knock sensors, new distributors, HT leads and new mounts.

New Clutch, including pressure plate and slave/master cylinders

The car also has new brake discs and pads all round as well as reconditioned front calipers. Front and rear BF Goodrich braided hoses.

New wheel bearings at the front and a spare set for the rears.

New fluids everywhere, including gearbox and PSD

Full Porsche Service History from the first owner in Austria up to 97,500 kilometers, one owner in the UK who did the rebuilt and drove it for 2500km for a grand total of 100,000 kilometers or 62150 miles. And then ME!!!

The only criticism - durty carpets, but nothing that a good scrub with some fancy carpet shampoo would not sort out and worn out driver side bolster on the front seat - about £100 to re-do at Southbound Trimmers

Can't wait until Saturday. Better hide my license

"Unfortunately" I will bring my Guards 928 S2 Manual, which has a GTS gearbox with shorter ratios than a normal one - it is quicker than a manual S4 and on par with a GT.

Wagner - the GT is going for a MOT on Monday and scrub inside/polish outside.

The engine is a new unit - the old one had a conrod broken The PO bought a GT engine from Douglas Valley with about 60K miles on it and decided to rebuilt it together with Jazz Porsche of Wembley. The 928 was meant to be his P&J, but I guess he is going through a divorce now... Really gutted for him - having sunk so much money and attention into the car - but at least I am going to keep it on the road where it belongs!!!

I remember a cheap 928 GT with blown engine being advertised in PP a while back - is this the same car I wonder?...mind you the guy was asking a massively optimistic £9k for the car - I nearly bought a rhd one for £10k before Christmas....

Nah. this one is cosher - service files about 10" thick. The owner is PCGB member etc... I paid well below mkt price even for a LHD. LHD with 100K miles in Germany go for a minimum of £11K. I have been after a 928 GT ever since I passed on a LHD one back in 2003...
