I'd always go for the sunroof - one of the reasons I've never bought an e92 m3 is the lack of sunroof offered in UK market. What does the carbon actually give you except a vague idea that the weight saving is somehow meaningful in the context of a daily driver on uk roads? But the sunroof is fabulous all of the time.

I love sunroofs too and you don't see that many cars with them now as A/C has took hold, a guy on m3cutters had a E92 M3 with a sunroof and it looked strange because I was so used to seeing the carbon roof on them. The carbon roof does make you chuckle though as it's meant to save a tiny bit of weight/lower the centre of gravity...not much point on a car that weighs over 1600kg in the first place though.

I dont really want the sunroof but I prefer the roof to be body coloured instead of carbon , thats why I'm heading that way , cant really think the weight saving would be noticeable for me. Of course spraying it would be an option
DCT is a must for sure , much more popular and driving it I can see why

I've always bought cars with sunroofs - all the BMWs I've ever had including all M3s, and pan roofs on the tourings. I also have a convertible and hate it with the roof up. I have the sunroof open on my daily 5 series almost all the time except in heavy rain. And even when it is shut, the glass roof is great.
Signature or not, I'd always forgo the carbon roof for the sunroof - resale be damned.

Talk to a BMW dealer and see how easy it is for them to shift an M4 with a sunroof. Trade bids will be awful. If buying on POP with the intention of handing back then it is a different story.
The carbon roof is a signature feature of an M4.
That being the case you'd expect a used M4 with a sunroof to be a bit of bargain then? However, just had a quick look on the AUC website and I don't really see any evidence of cars with a sunroof being priced significantly lower than similar cars with a carbon roof. You'd also expect PCP payments for cars with a sunroof to be a fair bit higher to reflect the much lower residual value - not sure whether they are but I suspect not. In any event, surely you buy a car like an M4 (or indeed any car) for you and not for some future owner? Therefore, if you're ordering new and fancy a sunroof I say spec one and have done! The carbon roof is a signature feature of an M4.

HUD
Full leather

And DCT
Having one myself, I would agree with this.Full leather
HK
Led lights
And DCT
Full leather a must. Comfort entry also preferable although I don't have it and don't miss it as I've never had it.
I would also go with HUD, I didn't like it at first but now love being able to see the limit and my speed while not taking my eyes off the road.
