Anyone using tyre cushions? Thinking of buying them but not sure when they are needed, car is stored for winter but I aim to take the car out every 3 weeks, not sure if that is enough time to have flat spots on the tyres. Should I use tyre cushions or are these only necessary for a longer period of storage?

Increase your tyres pressures. But don't forget to reset them before you drive it!

I have them for ours and they work very well. Because I found that if mine had been stood still for a prolonged period the ride would be a bit lumpy for a while before the tyres warmed up. They are an extravagance but look good and are very convenient to use. Mine oldest set is around 5 years old and are as good as new.

Rubber stable mats do the same job for a fraction of the price - inflate tyre pressures and put them on rubber mats.

I would not bother CSK , especially if you move every now and then, which is what i do.
A nice AMV12V indoor cover though is essential. smile

If you're using the car every few weeks, don't bother.

If you're not, just put more pressure in them.

Thanks for your replies guys! I've just ordered a set from the AML site. Perhaps not absolutely necessary but my Aston deserves a Xmas present too! :-)

They are £630, save the money and buy some axle stands smile (Leaving your car on axle stands for 6 months is probably a bad idea)

You could get four of those hoverboard things for that. They would work. Probably.

A set of Corsas doesn't come cheap. I have a client who leaves a Merc garaged at his villa in St Tropez out of season and you can definitely feel the flat spots in the tyres after a while. I intend to take my car out every 3 weeks/monthly during winter so not sure that is enough time for the tyre to have a flat spot but I don't want to take the chance and can't be bothered to deflate and inflate again each time I take the car out for a spin.

If you are going to drive the car every 3 to 4 weeks then "flat spotting" won't be a problem smile

I haven't got a caravan, neither do I have a campervan, I'm allergic to them.
