There will be hybrid, plug-in hybrid and EV versions of this, the pictures show the hybrid. 103bhp 1.6 engine with a 43bhp electric motor. Similar aero shape to the Prius/Insight, the styling isn't as weird as the new Prius, so it might attract people who want something more normal looking.

Interestingly it seems to use a normal 6-speed auto transmission, so I guess this is something like the Nissan/Infiniti system (where AFAIK the electric motor sits in-line with the transmission) rather than the power split device used by the Prius and other Toyota/Lexus hybrids.

It looks really nice. It's a bit too conventional for me - I like cars with really distinctive designs, like the Prius and DS5 - but I can see existing Hyundai owners upgrading to this, and there is sure to be some business from people who are put off by the radical design of the Gen4 Prius.
