Was going to change gearbox oil in 996, I was wondering what people do to raise car to perform this task (unfortunately I do not have a four-poster ! ) To keep car level I was considering driving on to wood ramps (about 4" raise, wondering if that would be enough) which would be simplest method, or jack and stands. If I use jack and stands is there an easy procedure as to which order to jack etc. Thanks

This guy used rhino ramps ( link ) of which I suppose you could use 4 to make sure the car is level.

Am I right in thinking that all 4 wheels have to be raised, not just the rear, to keep the whole car level when doing gearbox oil ?

Don't know for sure but I would have thought that must be the right thing to do.
