After a bit of advice really, I have recently acquired a 997.2 C4S and driving last night in the dark I am realky struggling with seeing the road. The dip beam lights up the sides of the road but seems to have very little actually lighting the road.

Down some dark country lanes I completely missed a 90 corner, don't have this of issue in my audi so I am wondering if this is how the headlights are or is something wrong with them. If working properly are they really this bad?

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks.

Have a 997.1 C4S and don't have any issues with the headlights - dipped or full. I'm assuming you will have looked already so apologies upfront but the only thing which has affected them is dirt/mud which was quick and easy to clean off.

Am I right in thinking xenon lights are std on "S" models ??
If so you should be having no issues with lighting.....

Please don't flame me for suggesting this...but you do have the lights on ??
I've seen the odd one being driven at night on just their daylight running lights laugh

Don't they have auto lights as standard though?

Yes, that can be switched off...

Yes the lights were on but the DRLs are quite bright.

I will drive the same route in the Audi tonight for comparison but I will get the opc to check the alignment as it is going in for some niggle resolution next week.

It is very noticeable that end of the light beam is very abrupt i.e. light then no light rather a gentle fade to nothing which makes the lit area of the road lengthen and shorten as the road undulates. Is this normal or should the self-levelling help this?

I have a 997.2 C4S and at night the lights are very impressive. I'd have the alignment checked as suggested.

Get them checked, 997 headlights are fantastic even just on dipped, your alignment must be out or the leveling system might be seized (happened on mine).
