Where is the match.com volume 3 thread?

All the Match.com threads had to be removed upon a request by Google as there was a large amount of content in each one which was not inline with their Adsense programme policy.

Obviously this is a lot of material that we be lost and we will be tweaking our rules and regulations as well as improving our moderation process to ensure this doesn't reoccur.

Surely there must be hundreds of threads more in breach of that policy than these ones or is it simply because the whole thread and its title relate to a 3rd party site? Hey ho nevermind

What were the proposed penalties if the thread wasnt removed?

Is there going to be a similar issue with links to bay and fail sites for threads?

Breach of AdSense policies will ultimately lead to being kicked out of the AdSense programme. In theory PH could set up a system where certain threads are marked so no AdSense adverts are served up on those pages.

Only the PH developers could tell you how feasible it is to implement this on the current platform.

That's good innit, so effectively google is controlling what content a discussion forum can, err, discuss.

What about if they start demanding removal of the Prospective 981 GT4 Owners Discussion thread, or the Official West Ham United thread etc.

PH get money for ads on pages via Google. Google get pissy with PH because the code was on pages that may have contained content that violates policy.

PH want to stay in the Google system so they get revenue. To do this, PH decide to take the threads down.

PH happy because they get money. PH users not happy, but PH (as usual) don't give a st.

I assume that when people google for dating sites, or match, or similar, it is ranking the pistonheads thread high up on page one, and that is not allowed as they want paying dating sites high up on page one.

Can the thread not just be renamed to something like "Online Dating" or "Dating Experiences"? It's understandable if it was the "match.com" part of the the thread title that was causing issues.

I think it's most likely to be a violation of AdSense's adult content policy but it'd be good if someone could confirm that.
