Logo \ Branding Design....Costs?
Discussion
Such a hard question to answer I know...pricing for creative services is a hard game..Logos can be knocked up on Fiverr for er...a Fiver or in the case of my current large corporate employer it can cost a ridiculously HUGE amount of money and time for what ends up being such a simple looking rebrand.
Is there a ballpark that a small yet-to-launch start-up should expect to pay for a logo & some slight 'brand identity' design?

Thanks...I've had a look at some of these crowd source design websites...I'm drawn more towards an independent but even with the crowdsourced ones...how do you choose what to pay? It depends what your budget is for launch?
I would figure out what your entire budget is and work back from that. I'd expect to pay at least £200 for logo and some brief design/brand guidelines. That will get you to a point where you can then get business cards and website designed and built/printed.
Having spent that amount I'd expect to then revisit the brand/logo and refine and improve it within a year as revenue started to come in.

Yep. Well, why not just pay £5 for a logo in colours you specify, to get the project off the ground, then rebrand 8 months later after the project has proven to be a good idea.I would figure out what your entire budget is and work back from that. At the risk of re-lighting the fire around the last time this was discussed here is my experience with Fiverr.com: http://www.bokoshoko.com/2015/09/thatll-be-fiverr-...
If you only need a logo, you know what you want and you can clearly articulate that in a brief then community/cloud-sourcing can work
If you need help from the ground up, you have no idea what you want and you want a full branding package (on-line, print, packaging etc) then use a "pro" of which there are some on this site
I should add I did NOT spend a fiverr I spent around 40 to 50 for two logos but fiverr.com was the site I used to obtain a designer from

Click on the how it works button, also browse through some of the competitions. You don't pay anything until you have chosen a winner.
Note I employ 2 full time graphic designers and I still use this service to get new sets of "ideas". 100 brains are always better than 1.

Drop me an email and I'll happily tell you some rough ballparks depending on what you need.Is there a ballpark that a small yet-to-launch start-up should expect to pay for a logo & some slight 'brand identity' design?
For obvious reasons, I'm not going to post rates on a public forum
