Hi, new to site so not quite sure if i'm in right place but here goes.....

I'm building a Dax Rush on a budget and have been given a Ford V6 2.9i from a Mk3 Granada. I know it is real heavy so isn't the ideal choice but I have been told it is or can be quite powerful (compared to a pinto that is) Any ideas on where I find general and performance tuning information on this engine?

Any positive advice about this engine would be much appreciated, cheers,

moonshine rat.

It's the same engine as is in the tvr s2 and s3 so look for info on that car on this site and you should get quite a bit of information that will help.

the 2.9 isn't that bad .. especially ib 24v form! it's based on the earlier 2.8 of course, but with separate exhaust ports, and the capacity came from a longer stroke so torque was boosted more than the bare capacity increase would first suggest. It's torquey and cheap so why not?

I can build you a high compression version or sell you some pretty trick pistons or you could turbocharge it with my low comp pistons. I can sell any 6 pistons for £500 or build the short motor for £1000. If you want it lightened internally, blueprinted & hand balanced that would cost £1500 total. Dynamically balancing on top is under £200. My web site is www.chevroletls1.com. Mike
