Exposure "reflex" explanation?

Hi guys,
I recently got a 2nd hand Exposure Raxe MK9 light, and it has lots of different modes, a few of them are supposedly "auto". It has 10 programmes, each of which has a few different settings, the 1st 3 programmes are auto....it says something like based on cornering G etc it changes the light output to make it brighter/darker according to what is required, but does it also do this if there is more/less surrounding light?
At the moment I'm using programme 4 (which is the brightest), and in here there are High, medium and low with battery lives of 2, 6 or 12 hours accordingly. When it's pitch black and no street lighting I'll put it on full, and them dim it accordingly. Does the auto mode do this? Would appreciate it if someone could help!

It uses a combination of temperature sensors (which measure speed) and accelerometers to measure inclination.
When you go faster or go downhill it gets brighter
When you go slower or uphill it dims.
It works very, very well and adjusts gradually so you can never really see it. It isn't like stepping between modes for example.
It doesn't measure surrounding light.

Thanks for that. My only gripe is that some times I may be riding slowly (eg uphill) in an area with no street lighting, yet quickly downhill in a well-lit area. I'd probably rather more light on the darker area.... Plus of it whacks it up to 1200 lumens around town I can't imagine many car drivers would be happy with me.

I will say the "full" flash mode is hilarious..... You can see the road signs flashing miles away! it's a very good light and, in my opinion, more than enough for commuting on road.
