Can anyone help me with this?

All of a sudden, I started having weird problems playing Skyrim where the right stick button didn't seem to do anything and I could change my point of view in the game. It was like the button was constantly down, or not connecting at all.

I then played BlackOps II where the right stick button is supposed to performs a knife action. The button didnt work, but strangely when I tried to fire the rifle with the right trigger, one round would fire off and then it would stab the knife straight after. i.e. right trigger operates the right trigger but then the right stick button straight after.

Any ideas whats going on here?

Could be gunk has built up inside the mechanisms and is causing buttons to malfunction, I've had similar issues in the past with a PSOne controller. Open it up and give it a clean inside, could be some grease or sticky drink has been splashed on it and has worked its way inside and dried.

Yep, I think my toddler has spilt some juice on it. I don't have the appropriate torx driver to get into it either.

That'll be your issue then, but until you can open and clean it there's nothing else you can really do.

I ordered the right tool and some IPA to give it a good clean out. I'm interested to see the gunk that has gathered in there. Hopefully it will save me £30

Yeah you should be alright, but then again I've never opened an XBox controller before so it could be very delicate inside! I've cleaned out PSOne and Megadrive controllers in the past and there's always been a fair bit of grot in there after many year's use.
