Caveat emptor...Stirling Moss edition R129 SL on eBay
Discussion
Some of you may have noticed this car.. Repeatedly resisted at lower prices. It's been painted and wheels and exhaust don't tie in with the edition.
If you hpi it you'll see it was written off in 2001. The vendor, a trader, seems to have forgotten to mention that fact...or perhaps he doesn't hpi his cars as a matter of usual business practice....
If it sounds too good to be true...it usually is....

It's a total mess by the looks of it.
First, there wasn't a Stirling (note correct spelling of the great knight's name) Moss edition: it was the Mille Miglia edition.
Second, it should have Evo (or Cegnius) wheels in a painted finish, not the abortions that are on it.
Third, that car appears to have xenon lights which were not available on an early 1995 car and are bound to be bodged.
Fourth, it should not have gen II AMG side skirts.
Fifth, the exhaust should be a hanging offence.
Sixth, the front bumper and front wing Sacco panels should be of the gen I type (which the rear bumper and the rest of the Sacco panels are); the side panels having three square vents not two ovoid vents, and with a little chequered flag motif.
Seventh, the roll bar should be back, not blue.
Eighth, the boot should be fully trimmed.
Ninth, the side repeaters are in the wrong place and that funny 'SL' badge next to them is wrong.
Tenth, the door handles should be black.
Eleventh, the front indicators should be bi-coloured.
You would have to be mad to pay more than 5p for that car.
With apologies to anyone who has just sprung for it.
Oh, yeah, anyone who badges a SL500 as SL600 gets bonus points in loserville.
