Perpetual Calendars- Reliabity & Servicing
Discussion
I am considering a JLC perpetual calendar (mid 2000's), and as it would potentially be my first 'complicated' piece I thought I might ask for some advice from forum members with more experience.
My two current watches are Rolex Day Date II (bi-metal) and Rolex Yachtmaster II (18ct yellow gold), both fantastic watches, very solid, never let me down in any way at all, but they are also far less complicated movements.
Is an approx. 10 year perpetual calendar something which would represent a risk?
How reliable are they if looked after well? The watch in question looks immaculate and is for sale via a very reliable dealer with extensive high level stock/experience of similar pieces. Comes with 1 year warranty.
Would also be good to get an estimate on how often they would need to be serviced and approx. cost/lead time?
It would also be my first JLC so I want to make sure my introduction to this great brand is a pleasurable one...
Any advice/feedback most welcome.
