sl 55 amg trickle charger

Is it possible to put a trickle charger on the starter battery (under the bonnet)without disconnecting it. Have looked in the manual, it states if charging disconnect battery but nothing about trickle charging. Any thoughts

I used one on mine & it was fine

Have trickle charger on both of the batteries. Have used the permanent connections so it is easy to connect and disconnect.

I keep my r129 SL500 on a CTEK charger continuously in the garage, using their eyelet connector secured to the battery clamps. I know your car has two batteries - if the cigarette lighter is continuously live, CTEK also supply a cigarette lighter plug which will keep both on charge.
