Hi guys,
Can someone take a picture of the top of the trans tunnel with the console and shift boots removed?
I'm trying to remember how much room there is around the shift lever to put a new rubber boot on since I can't find a donor on the part.
I'm 400 miles away from the car for the next two weeks.

Thanks

I haven't got a photo but there's a good 3/4 to 1 inch all the way around. I clamped mine down with an aly cutout sheet for good measure.

Thanks Adam. I think on my the whole is way bigger. Maybe 2 to 3 inches in each direction. Hope others chime in.

Ziga,
Is that a file picture or one of your cars? might you know the dimensions between the screws front to back and side to side?

I may be able to help with the screw hole dimensions... as I have the trans cover off and gear stick boot removed..

however, wont have a chance to look before the weekend, busy week for me unfortunately and the the car is filled with various bits and bobs..

It is a 280i though so not sure if the dimensions will vary from a 350i ?
I'll post up findings when I have them..
Cheers

I ordered a rubber inner boot from a 08-10 Subie Impreza 2.5i. The spacing looks close and the size and shape are about the same. The top can be pulled up or pushed down depending on the bulky part of the shift lever. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

Hi guys, I got the shift boot I ordered that's from a Subie. It looks very good and close dimensionally.
As you can see from the picture it comes with a layer of insulation (to be removed and a backing piece of rubber or soft plastic of some sort which I may or may not remove. The boot it's self might work as well.
Take a look and see what you think.

And here is a second picture. Sorry for the wrong orientations. It changed it for some reason.
