There have been a couple of posters recently who seem to have got a message saying something like stand in the corner and the teacher will call you when the other children let you play with them.
How do you know when the other children are up for it? Does this mean theyre never let back into the forum? Ever?

I may well become one of them soon - please can we have a special nursery forum for all the idiots who don't know where to post, operate a search engine or believe correct information that's handed to them on a plate ?
Or can I just have my own special quiet little corner with padded buffers ?

AIUI, there's a "sin bin" where people can be sent to calm down and think about what they've done before being reintroduced to the herd. If they visit that too often, they can be banned from thread, sub-forum/fora or PH as a whole and bans are permanent.
(not a mod. - just someone who spends waaaay too much time reading various threads and drawing inferences)

OK, usually members get thread bans! they last until the thread dies..... or a second/third etc. volume starts up.
Forum ban occur usually after repeated warnings to stop whatever they are doing, advertising, N&S'ing etc. They are usually permanent.
Site Bans are in the main permanent, very rarely are previously banned members allowed to return.
The Sin Bin area is for discussions with those members that have breach the rules or T&C's.
Parc Ferme is an off forum chat area where the mods or PH staff can have one to one chats with members.

It's easy, you just have to express a view that goes against one of the more trigger happy mods opinions. They won't engage you in any reasonable discussion or warn you of their impending action. They'll just lock you out of the thread and perhaps insult you for good measure.
