Chaps, due to a customer going bust a while back we have a large quantity of toroid transformer - essentially copper wire wrapped around a steel 'doughnut', about 2.3kg a piece.

We could do with turning them back in to cash, but, unless we strip them down to copper & steel component form (which I don't think is financially viable) they're worth very little.

Any ideas?

Mods please don't delete - this isn't a for sale thread - I'm looking for ideas!

Thanks muchly,
Simon

They are easy enough to separate if you break the core.
How many have you got?

Andrew - thank you smile

DB- about 4,500. Scrap value is about equal to labour cost to separate, sadly.

Lots of people looking for these on eBay to use in DIY amplifiers.

Depending on spec and use may be a worth selling them on there. Would be worth reasonable money too.

Cost of transaction would be too high to sell them in small quantities frown

Could probably sell them for £4 each as novelty weights for weight lifting. nuts They'd fit on a home barbell bar.
