My tracker has apparently failed - its the default/standard AM fitment and its circa £1,300 for a new one!!!!!

Anyone had experience of these failing before? I guess lots more after market options at much lower price that do the same thing

When my previous cars tracker failed the car was outside of warranty so the dealer bypassed it. I also note my current car looks to have had at least 1 unit replaced plus a new sets of fobs under warranty on different occasions.

Mine failed in the 5th year and I went for an OEM replacement; my insurance requires a tracker and it seemed easier to replace the with an AM original to keep the factory fitted aspect.

Hi ripley500

Had the same problem last year. 2012 V12V and one day I noticed the red light came on after I had paired my phone and started the car.......I never got a call or a text from Eurowatch and that was what made me think it had failed. I had the latest version fitted by AM. I believe it's Vodafone/Cobra but unfortunately it comes with another little tag. Their system does not permit Bluetooth pairing with a handset to use as the tag. I think your estimate price wise is about right. When I had the new unit fitted I had to have a new battery fitted too as the day it was booked in the car wouldn't start as the old unit had drained the battery. No problems with the new unit so far.

Hope that helps

Best Regards

Thanks - I like the ability to link to my phone as those tags are a pain to carry around. Just waiting to see what the factory say about the replacement

I have had a couple of problems with the Eurowatch unit not receiving a pulse from the V12V unit a couple of times. Leaving the engine running for 10 minutes stationary usually corrected the problem as EW did remote diagnostics.

With the onset of owning a couple of classic AM's as well, I decided to buy into Cantrack https://cantrack.com/ and have a battery operated Tracker (suitable for classics) I plant in the car when I'm using one.

Works out to be a fraction of the cost of before and the insurance company doesn't give a stuff about the make either. Hopefully, I'll never find out how good they or not.

I have the Tracker Monitor which came with the car new. I called them to reactivate it but they advised on upgrading to the newer Tracker Locate. It cost £299 plus £179 I think for one years service.
