Nikon 70-300 1:4-5.6 G lens 1st Go

I took these with the lens when in Wales a couple of weeks ago. Lots of noise but straight from the camera and low res

Finally, someone who has this lens!

What's it like? I've got the 28-80G lens as a rough and ready spare, so I know what the quality of the consrtuction is like, I'm very interested to know what you think of the shots it takes?

I think the lens if fine for what it is. I will take some more later but at high res and post them here. I also have the 28-80 G as a spare, along with a 50mm 1:1.8D and the 18-70 DX that came with the camera.
