Cayman Gen I 2.7 Chrono PASM or Gen I 3.4S Chrono PASM or Gen II 2.9
£19500 budget
Question which would be most reliable/expensive to run
Is there really much difference in driver experience, if used as weekend/summer car?
Getting well confused over Bore score reports and IMS issues. Should I let this influence my choice?

beginning to lean towards Gen I 2.7 high spec low mileage or Gen II average mileage. Looking to keep car for a while
Is there a noticeable difference between Gen I and II? I know both will hold value once Gen III 4 cylinder hits the market later this year.
Driven a few 3.4S's, but IMS reviews have now put me off a bit.

Hmmm
Spoke to a OEM Porsche dealership near Cambridge about my concerns and forum posts and he said that at some point IMS failure will occur!
Could be at 20k or 90k, not very reassuring. He also said that if it was a major issue affect lots of cars, Porsche would have issued a recall.
Not sure about that, as cost would be significant, with the number of cars out there.
I know whatever car forum you read there will always be some issue which if you believed everything written, you would never buy any car.
Have an Elise and if you read forums, they leak, prone to gasket failure, bits fall off etc. etc.. I've never had any issue with mind. So just trying to put things into perspective, but still unsure.

Heads up - I'm trading my 2.9 987.2 into Colchester tomorrow so suspect it will appear on their Approved Used list soon. 2010 Meteor Grey, just over 37k miles, lightly optioned with bluetooth, PDK, heated seats, parking sensors so shouldn't be too silly priced although judging from other cars listed it will appear for not much less than I paid for it over three years ago. Not wanting to tempt fate but it has been faultless in my time with it.
