I don't want to start world war three but thought you all might like to see this.

'The D70's color response is certainly stronger than the EOS 20D and reminds me of the output of a 20D RAW image run through DPP in 'Faithful Color' mode.'

1:0 to D70

'Resolution wise the 20D takes the advantage (although as mentioned previously not by any significant margin) it's also noticeably sharper than the D70.'

1:1. However, they're comparing JPGs: sharpening is software-dependent. I'm sure I could crank my sharpening up a bit, either in-camera or in PS, if I wanted to.

As the 20D is significantly more expensive than the D70 and is a mid-range camera as opposed to entry level, I make that a win to the D70

Like I said, I don't want to start a war, but don't you think it's easier to sort out the colour issue than the resolution issue?

I'm not with you. I'm perfectly happy with the colour; I've just had some prints back for an exhibition which are superb.

At the end of the day, you pay your money and make you choice. There are good and bad points for all camera's, not just between Nikon and Canon. I prefered the D70's feel over the plastic feeling 300D. My choice and I stick by it. just my 2 penneth

I think I'd go for that Olympus they compare it with!

The ISO50 results look very impressive!

Overall the differences do not outweigh the fact that I moved to one make many years ago so that I could use one system that didn't bvqq3r about with different mounts every time they designed something new!
