Have you checked the bulbs? Are the headlights standard?

Hi bearing in mind it's logged 115 times and as intermittent, when you clear the code does it turn off the warning? and if so when does it reappear? are the DTRL halogen LED or Xenon? depends on year and options and what could be causing the fault.

LED bulbs can be a pain. I had numberplate LEDs in for a while, working fine... then problems.

Most retrofit LEDs are appalling quality and/or don't have the necessary resistance to fool the bulb check system into thinking there's a functional filament bulb in there.

I'd re-fit regular bulbs just to rule anything else out. If that works, looks for some CAN friendly LEDs if you want to stick with them

Think these are the OEM LED DRLs as the OP has an S6?

If they're working fine, I'd keep an eye out for a cheap replacement and just ignore the fault code until it fails completely - unless you're getting the warning on the dash constantly?

If they're factory LEDs and therefore not replaceable I'd be checking for water ingress to the wiring to the headlight. It may require a new headlight to make it go away as there's not much you can do in terms of stripping the lights unless you're quite handy with electrics

Guys, we really need to check which car the OP has before offering advice. I know the OP hasn't stated it and everyone's trying to help, but from other posts I think he has an S6 (C6), so talking about refitting the original non-LED DRLs and replacing headlight units when the OEM DRLs are LED and aren't part of the headlight isn't helping anyone.

yep this is spot on its a 2007 my c6 s6 and the lights are still as they were when the car left the factory

whats odd is that when i move the rotary dial to the parking light mode (ie the circle with spokes radiating away) then no lights come on. yet when the coming home courtesy lights are activate the parking light bulbs (they look like halogens with the light not emitting from the xenon bit)

not sure if this helps but im wondering whether this in mot failure or advisory

From the MOT inspection manual:

[quote]Daytime running lamps are not testable unless they replace the front position lamps. Where this is the case, they should dim when the position lamps are switched on and may extinguish when the headlamps are switched on.
