Low Coolant Temp - is this normal? 2008 V8V
Discussion
So since I've had the car back in July the coolant gauge has always say around the halfway mark, although takes a bit of a longer time that I would expect to get there.
However, having taken the car out in the near artic conditions we're having (+3 degrees) on my journey it only got up to about a quarter. If I sat in traffic it went back to half way, but as soon as I got moving it dropped down. I connected my OBDII connector and the coolant temp was stated as 66 degrees, which to me is too low.
Any ideas? To me sounds like the thermostat is stuck open. But I have little knowledge of the engine in this so not sure how likely that is?
If it is how big of a job is it?
