Any one else had a similar experience? If so, what did you get?

my guess is that stationary objects on the side of the road will appear to move backwards faster at 48 than at 30

Or did you mean nicked at 48 in a 30? My guess is that the implication will be something a bit larger than a fixed penalty. One of our guys was done for 52 in a 30, fined 260 quid and 3 points. Having said that, looking at earlier posts on speeding, I'd assume the tolerance varies county by county, and similary fine/points allocated varies by the gender and amount of grey hair of the the beak.

My first speeding offence (years ago on the motorway) was classified by the grey haired late 50's female beak as low flying. Got a month's ban (Feb - only 28 days whooopee doo) and a 400 quid fine.

Good luck.

How did you get caught, scamera I take it?

If it was a scam I'd guess you will get a nice form through the post, have your credit card handy to fill in the form and send it back. You'll prob get 3 points and 60 quid fine and a chip on your shoulder for the whole experience.

48 in a 30 under ACPO Guidelines should mean you still qualify for a Conditional Offer, i.e. 60/3 proving there is nothing else dirty on your Licence that would take you to 12.

When the new road safety Bill gets ER"s signature then you would be looking at a Higher Penalty - 100/6.
